Law Enforcement Guidelines
These guidelines are for law enforcement agencies, courts, and legal professionals seeking records from CallMyAI LLC. They are published so that a request arrives correctly addressed and correctly scoped.
Where to send legal process
Send subpoenas, court orders, search warrants and preservation requests to the legal address given at the end of this page. Include the requesting agency, a case or reference number, the legal authority relied on, the specific records sought, and a return address we can reply to.
We require valid legal process. The type of process governs what can be produced: basic subscriber and transaction records generally require a subpoena; the contents of communications generally require a search warrant. We do not produce records on an informal request.
This is not obstruction. The Stored Communications Act cuts both ways — disclosing more than the law permits is itself a violation. Requests are triaged against what the process actually authorises rather than answered by instinct, and that protects the requesting agency's evidence as much as it protects our users.
What CallMyAI is
CallMyAI is a voice platform. A creator builds an AI persona modelled on that creator's own voice, and a caller has a live spoken conversation with that persona. No human is on the other end of the call. There is no messaging feed, no user-uploaded photo or video, and no fan-to-fan contact anywhere in the product.
We do not record calls. No call audio is captured, stored, or retained at any point, for any user, under any setting. A request for call audio cannot be fulfilled because the audio does not exist.
What we hold — an honest inventory
Our record-holding is deliberately asymmetric, and understanding that asymmetry will save an investigating agency considerable time.
Creators — fully identified
Every creator on the platform completes identity verification before any persona is activated. For each creator we hold:
- Legal name and date of birth.
- Government-issued photo identification.
- The timestamp and method of verification.
- Payout account details and payment history.
- The consent records licensing us to build and operate a persona from that creator's voice.
These are held in an administrative, access-controlled system. A creator is not anonymous to us, and legal process directed at a creator's identity can be answered.
Fans — pseudonymous by design
Fans are a different matter, and we would rather say so plainly than have an agency discover it after serving process.
We do not hold fan phone numbers or fan email addresses in readable form. When a call or a purchase arrives, the identifier is immediately converted into an irreversible cryptographic hash using a secret unique to that one creator, and only the hash is stored. This happens at the point the data enters our systems, not later. The conversion cannot be run backwards to recover the original number or address.
For a fan, what actually exists is:
- A per-creator hashed identifier — the same fan appears as the same value to one creator, and as an unrelated value to every other creator.
- Call timestamps and call durations.
- A payment token issued by our payment processor.
- Call transcripts, retained for a limited period (see below).
- An account email address only if that fan chose to create an account.
We cannot produce a fan's phone number, because we do not have it. We cannot produce a list of which creators a given person has called, because no such link exists in our systems — the hashes for one person differ across creators precisely so that this cannot be assembled.
Where fan billing identity does exist
Payments are processed by a third-party payment provider acting as merchant of record. That provider — not CallMyAI — holds the fan's billing name, card details and billing address. An agency seeking to identify a paying fan should direct process to the payment provider. We will identify the relevant provider in response to valid legal process so that a request can be routed correctly.
This is a genuine limit on what we can produce, and it is a deliberate design choice rather than an evasion. Caller anonymization is a core promise we make to fans and it is described publicly at How caller anonymization works. We built the system so that the promise holds even against ourselves.
Preservation requests
We honour preservation requests made under valid authority. Preservation is applied as a legal hold on the specific records identified, which freezes them against our normal automatic deletion.
Two points worth knowing when drafting a preservation request:
- Transcripts are deleted on a short cycle. Call transcripts are retained for 30 days and then removed automatically. A preservation request that arrives after that window cannot recover them — nothing is archived behind the deletion.
- Preservation does not change our retention period. A hold freezes the identified records; it does not extend retention for anyone else. Please identify the records to be preserved as specifically as possible.
Emergency disclosure
Where we receive a request asserting an emergency involving a danger of death or serious physical injury, we will review it promptly and may disclose information where the law permits. Send emergency requests to the legal address below and state the nature of the emergency clearly in the subject line.
We are not able to state a response time. We have no dedicated law-enforcement response team, and we will not publish a commitment we cannot reliably meet.
Notice to users
Our practice is to notify a user when their records are sought, so they have an opportunity to object, except where we are legally prohibited from doing so, where a court has ordered otherwise, or where notice would create a risk of harm to a person or of destruction of evidence.
Requests from outside the United States
CallMyAI LLC is a United States company. Process issued by a non-US authority is generally routed through a mutual legal assistance treaty or letter rogatory. We will consider direct requests from non-US authorities where the law permits, but we cannot commit in advance to producing records on foreign process alone.
What this page is not
This page describes how we handle legal process. It is not a waiver of any objection, and it does not create rights for any party. We reserve every objection available to us — including objections to process that is overbroad, that seeks records we do not hold, or that is not authorised for the category of data sought.
