Age and Identity Affirmation
This is one of the agreements a creator accepts at onboarding. It is short, and every line of it matters.
What you are affirming
1. You are an adult. You are 18 years of age or older — or the age of majority where you live, if that is higher.
2. The identification you present is genuine and yours. Not a relative's, not a friend's, not edited, not borrowed.
3. The voice is your own. Every recording you submit is your voice, not anyone else's.
Why we take this as a separate affirmation
The other checks are things we do — a document is examined, a recording is analysed, a reviewer looks. This one is something you state. Identity verification is strong but not infallible, and a person determined to misrepresent themselves can sometimes get a document past a check.
Taking these three as an explicit affirmation means that if any of them is untrue, it is not an ambiguity or an oversight. It is something you said. That matters if it ever has to be resolved.
What happens if an affirmation is false
A false affirmation ends your account permanently, and any persona built from it is retired.
It may also be a criminal offence, depending on where you are — particularly where a false age affirmation is involved on an adult platform, or where someone else's identification has been used. We report unlawful conduct to authorities where the law requires it.
If something here stops being true, tell us. Continuing to operate a persona while one of these affirmations is false is a material breach of the Creator Agreement — but telling us is not.
